Giving Life to Art
Steps of 3D Animation
The art of our 3D animation comes not only of the technology used, but the effort together, always looking for inspiration in the respect to all and the ultimate goal being to give the public the all joy fruit of this union and all understanding and beauty existing in the work.
In parallel, the characters are created. Various drawings seeking the countenance final of the character with all its elements. Are elaborated the scenarios and the colors we want to give to the project.
From there we created the rigs, ie the skeletons which allow the movements of the characters according to their structure and action in history.
Hair and Fur
An interesting part is the creation of hair and fur of the animals. It is at this stage that we set the volume, thickness, brightness, hairstyle and availability of movement.
The rendering is responsible for defining the final resolution, making a digital treatment that transforms all pictures of production to post-production, with colors, textures, shadows and lighting points. This step consumes a large amount of processor resources, requiring a large computational capacity.
Story and Screenplay
The starting point of an animation is talk. Here we talk a lot and we talked about the ideals that we want to pass on the animation. Thenceforth we gradually creating the story, the characters’ personalities and building the roadmap.
With these elements defined, we going the 3D modeling of characters, costumes, props, scenery and everything. Always attentive to detail and an indispensable item: inspiration.
This department is responsible for transmitting the actions set out in the “storyboard” for the 3D world. It’s where we see the sequence, for example feeling your flow with scene cuts and styles of shooting.
At this stage all artistic sense is needed to add and control lighting. The brightness of the colors, environments and times and gain more life and beauty and will be highlighted as the emotion of the film.
The editing job is to review the footage, cut some, review the dialogues and inserting it into the movie as well as sound effects, soundtrack and more and more review sections and other cuts.
After all this work, we do the “storyboard” sequential designs that will set the camera shots and the attitudes of the characters.
Materials and Textures
All objects that make up an 3D animation have a material and / or texture. It’s what makes a 3d tree trunk with aspect of a real tree trunk, eyes bright and colorful, skin like skin, and other elements with various materials, such as matte or shiny metal, plastic, glass…
In animated films, recordings of the dialogues are made before starting the 3D animation. With the voices ready, the animation work begins with all energy to give life to the characters. It is this process that, using countless motion controls, the animator develops all action of the characters, including facial expressions, like smiling and snap.
Composition and VFX
It is at this stage that are placed all effects like smoke, fire, rain, snow, explosions… The impulse factor, so to speak, is the observation of nature’s beauty. You know when it rains and you see the fine drops amid a light pole? These and other moments are what inspire the creators of visual effects and make them want to convey this feeling through film.
It’s time to treat the images adding and improving the colors and lighting, highlighting the intensity or changing the mood of a scene. Reaching the final aspect in which the public enjoys of the all this work.
